Sparty On!
Alan and I spent the afternoon and evening today in East Lansing. We were there to partake in the wedding celebration for my cousin Brian and his lovely wife, Larissa. The wedding was at the Chapel at Hawk Hollow. The reception was at Eagle Eye Golf Club. It was all gorgeous. Eagle Eye will be hosting the PGA's Buick Open Tournament in 2 years. You'll be able to check it out on tv then.
Alan and I after the wedding ceremony.
Brian and Larissa (like Alan and I) are both State grads and proudly wear their green and white. Brian and Larissa were surprised by their groomsmen when Sparty made a cameo at the reception. It was AWESOME!
The wedding party gets in on the fun. Brian, Jimmy, and Greg (l to r) are my cousins. They are brothers. We spent a ton of time together when we were growing up.
I think it is hilarious that Sparty showed up in a tux.
I love this picture of my Aunt Tina and Sparty. Looks like they are really having a deep discussion.

Funny Things
Thomas says a lot of really funny things. They are so funny to me because they are so innocent. I have been writing them down so that I don’t forget them. I’ll present you with 3 scenarios and the funny remarks that Thomas made.
May 2010
Alan and Thomas had been busy building a garden for me. Thomas worked for about 20 minutes nailing a 6” spike into the landscape timber.
Thomas: “I just nailed that in like a worker guy. Daddy, are you a worker guy?”
July 1, 2010
Thomas and I were going to buy produce for shish kabobs at our local fruit market. He noticed the fire chief’s truck in the parking lot when we arrived. When we got into the store I pointed the chief out to him. Thomas approached the chief.
Thomas: “My Uncle Mike is a firefighter.”
Chief: “That’s a good job for your Uncle Mike. Where is he a firefighter?”
Thomas: “At the fire station.”
July 9, 2010
Thomas was playing in the bathtub with a small bucket and spoon.
Thomas: “Here is your lunch, girl. It’s an apple pie.”
Me: “Wow, thanks. What did you put in it?”
Thomas: “Um, green pop and flavor.”
Me: “Did you put apples in it?”
Thomas: “No. I put a cherry on top. There’s gum inside.”

Child's Play
A child's work is his play. What better way to work than with friends at a cool children's museum? Thomas and I went to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum with our friends Laura, Kyle and Erin Bos yesterday. The kids had a great time, as did Laura and I. We love children's museums!
Kyle and Thomas loved gathering eggs from this chicken coop.

I just love these mirrors. This is T's angry face. He was actually (and justifiably) angry because some big kids pushed him away from the toy he had been waiting patiently for.

Almost Wordless Wednesday
Almost because I have to explain this concept that I've borrowed from some friends (specifically Laura- who took the picture below and Beth). Wordless Wednesday's are just that - wordless. From here on out they will be just a quick snapshot in our day.
