Fun with Jack!

We had an extra kiddo for the weekend. Our good friend, Jack, spent the night on Saturday. Thomas and Jack have been good buddies since they started daycare on the same day over 2.5 years ago. They had lots of fun!

Kind of funny....as I am finishing this post, they are fighting and screaming over who gets a turn with the toy front end loader. Guess I better play mediator now....

Little Drummer Boy

Thomas has been serenading us with his "amazing" drumming skills lately. Yesterday, he did so wearing just his unders. Look closely....

Finished Product!

So, Alan is teaching a new grade (8th), a new subject (American History), in a new room. His new room was in a state of disrepair when they gave it to him. He spent some time painting it this nice serene blue. Of course I got dragged into the situation. He called me Tuesday and requested that I sew curtains for his room. Those who know me well, know that I don't really sew. So, this was a pretty big deal for me. I finished them last night and we hung them this morning. He is really happy to be able to block out some of the sun. (Sorry, the picture is a bit dark due to all the light outdoors)

While we were there, we also hung a bunch of posters and I covered bulletin boards for him while he unpacked boxes. Thomas ran around the school with some other kids and "helped" other teachers out.

We have finally convinced Thomas that his Daddy really works at a school and not at a golf course all of the time. He has accepted that piece but argues about Daddy's profession. When I tell him that Daddy is a teacher, he replies, "He not a teacher, he's my Daddy." We'll keep working on that.

Thomas really wants to go to school now. He's still a bit small for the desks, though.

All Good Things Must Come to an End....

I can't think of a better way to spend the last day of summer vacation than a trip to the zoo with friends. We have gone to Binder Park Zoo a lot this summer and it is always a good time. Thomas loves to sit on this giant ant at the entrance of the park. We have a picture of him on it from everytime we have visited. Here he is with Romy and Sasha.

Our group of kiddos (minus a couple). It was a really great day. We had 5 moms, a grandma, and 9 kids for this outing. Lots of fun!

Sias of a Summer

We got to spend the weekend with the Sias' again. We are lucky to spend so much time together, especially since we live almost 3 hours apart. Suzie and I had hoped to take the kids to the zoo, but the weather has been horrible (rainy AND cold). Instead, we checked out the Fennville Children's Museum.

Thomas LOVED this fire truck and spend 95% of his time here. He ventured out briefly to climb and go down the slide, but promptly returned.

Thomas insisted that I wear this hat while he "drove" his truck. So, I insisted that he wear one, too. He humored me for this picture. I love it!

Day Out With Thomas

We took Thomas to the Annual "Day Out With Thomas" at Huckleberry Railroad and Crossroads Village. It was a lot of fun and we took lots of great pictures.

All in all, we enjoyed the train ride. But, little boys that stay up too late the night before their first train ride tend to sleep through their first train ride. Thomas caught some zzzz's and upon awakening after the ride was finished insisted that we ride the train again. Doesn't quite work that way.

Bob the Builder was on site to assist with the "building" of a new shed for Thomas. The show was rather entertaining. So much so that we bought the CD. It is a welcome change from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Barney.

Beach Fun!

We were super lucky to be able to spend the day with the Sias'. Alan and John golfed while Suzie and I took the boys to the beach. Billy and TJ had fun playing in the sand. Thomas had a great time in the water.
